  • Steel conducts heat 18 times more efficiently than stone. This results in a quicker bake, crispier pizza base, and a better-risen loaf.
  • The baking steel will last a lifetime. Steel will not break or crack like baking stones.
  • The 6mm thickness of the baking steel allows for heat to be stored and provides a sustained heat source for the entire bake.

Our latest steel is now modular meaning that you can purchase the number of plates based on your oven size. Smaller ovens can fit 2 plates and larger ovens can fit 3 plates. The smaller modules maximize your oven space and are much lighter and easier to pack away. Sliding the bread/pizza dough onto the hot steel can sometimes be challenging, so we recommend a suitable bread peel to complement the steel.

What’s included:

  • Baking Steel Plates – 20.7cm x 36.8cm x 6mm (size per plate) | includes 2 or 3 plates depending on your oven size selection

For a small 60cm oven, you will need 2 plates making a total baking area of 41cm x 36cm. This is suited to 2 – 3 loaves or 1 large pizza.

For a large 90cm oven (or larger), you will need 3 plates making a total baking area of 62cm x 36cm. This is suited to 3 – 4 loaves or 1-2 pizzas.

We strive to get your order to you as fast and efficiently as possible. Products ordered online can be shipped to any location in South Africa

We charge a flat shipping fee of R90 per order. Free shipping for all orders over R1500!

Orders that contain backordered items will only be shipped once all order items are in stock. If you would like us to ship the in-stock items you will need to pay an extra R90 shipping charge.

Shipping times – Times vary according to location.

Major hubs (JHB, CPT, and DBN) are typically 2 – 3 working days from the time of despatch.

Outlying areas can take 3 – 5 working days from the time of despatch.

Orders are generally processed and despatched within 1-2 working days from the time of order, excluding weekends. Once your order has been processed and shipped, you will receive an email with your package tracking details.

Local Collection (Gauteng only) – We have moved to a new facility in Melville, JHB. Currently, the collection will only be available upon request and by appointment.

    One of the best investments I have made for my baking projects. The baking steel is ideal for breads, pizzas and more. The transfer peel makes the transfer very easy, even for a tray of rolls – This works better than the more common round peel. This is an excellent combo and very good value for money. I will highly recommend this product.
