This is our oval banneton that can hold approximately +/- 1.5kg of dough. It is ideal for large batard/oval-shaped loaves.
Bannetons or proving baskets are used to support the dough while it rises after final shaping. They are perfect for creating beautiful, rustic, artisan-style bread. Make your dough, shape it, and then let it prove/rise in the banneton basket (flour the basket with rice flour to prevent the dough from sticking). Then, when risen, turn the dough out onto your baking tray (or slide onto your baking steel/stone using a dusted peel), score, and bake. You’ll achieve a beautiful rectangular/oval loaf with a flour ring pattern.
When finished, brush out any excess flour from the basket (avoid washing).

Orders that contain backordered items will only be shipped once all order items are in stock. If you would like us to ship the in-stock items you will need to pay an extra R90 shipping charge.

Major hubs (JHB, CPT, and DBN) are typically 2 – 3 working days from the time of despatch.
Outlying areas can take 3 – 5 working days from the time of despatch.
Orders are generally processed and despatched within 1-2 working days from the time of order, excluding weekends. Once your order has been processed and shipped, you will receive an email with your package tracking details.
