Bannetons, or proving baskets, are essential for supporting dough during its final rise, helping you create beautiful, rustic, artisan-style bread. These baskets are perfect for shaping dough into loaves with a charming flour ring pattern. Simply prepare your dough, shape it, and place it into the banneton (flour the basket with rice flour to prevent sticking). Once risen, turn the dough out onto a baking tray or transfer it onto a baking steel or stone using a dusted peel. Score the loaf, bake it, and enjoy a perfectly shaped oval or rectangular loaf.

After use, gently brush out any excess flour from the basket. Avoid washing to preserve the basket’s integrity.

We charge a flat shipping fee of R90 per order. Free shipping for all orders over R1500!

Orders that contain backordered items will only be shipped once all order items are in stock. If you would like us to ship the in-stock items you will need to pay an extra R90 shipping charge.

Shipping times – Times vary according to location. JHB typically ships in 1 day after dispatch.

Major hubs (CPT, and DBN) are typically day 2 – 3 working days from the time of dispatch.

Outlying areas can take 3 – 5 working days from the time of dispatch.

Orders are generally processed the same day if ordered before 1pm but can take up to 1-2 working days from the time of order, excluding weekends. Once your order has been processed and shipped, you will receive an email with your package tracking details.
